Wednesday, 29 July, 2015 – Hon. Senator Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Mohd Tun Salleh Said Keruak has sworn in as Senator before The President of the Senate, H.E. Senator Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang at 8.30 am at Parliament of Malaysia.

Hon. Senator Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Mohd Salleh Tun Said Keruak has been the Speaker of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly since 2011 and was appointed as the Minister of Communications and Multimedia commencing today. He was born on 10 July, 1957 at Kota Belud, Sabah. He has a degree in political science from Simon Fraser University, Canada. He obtained his Master’s Degree and PhD level in the field of politics and government at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

He is also active in politics and held several positions under UMNO Sabah, among them are Kota Belud Chief Division P.169, Sabah Chairman and Liaison Committee Deputy Chairman from 1996 to present. In addition, Hon. Senator Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Mohd Salleh Tun Said Keruak is also active in various NGOs and has served as the Vice President of the Malaysian Youth Council, President of the Bajau Arts and Cultural Association of Sabah (PSBB), a member of the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) and also Chairman of FINAS in 2011.
