KUALA LUMPUR, 11 March - Deputy Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today launched the book 'Dayak Woman In The House' written by Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Dato’ Sri Doris Sophia Anak Brodie in a ceremony held at the MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre, here.

Also present were President of the Senate, Senator Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Pandikar Amin Mulia and President of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. James Jemut Masing.
The book “Dayak Woman In The House” contains Senator Dato' Sri Doris Sophia Anak Brodie’s experiences as the Senator and Deputy President of the Senate.

Senator Dato’ Sri Doris Sophia Anak Brodie was appointed as the Senator on 12 March 2010 and was the first Sarawakian woman from the Dayak ethnic group to be appointed as the Deputy President of the Senate on 26 February 2012.
Her term as Senator ended today.

She was born in Lutong, Miri, Sarawak on 13 November 1960 and began her career as a guest service officer at the Miri Hospital (1978-1980).
She worked with Sarawak Shell Berhad for 17 years (1980-1996), where she held several key positions such as Unit Head of Drilling Department.
Her involvement in politics began in 1986 when she joined the Parti Bangsa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) before being appointed as the Ketua Wanita PRS in 2006.
