PARLIAMENT OF MALAYSIA,18 April – Pahang Orang Asli Development Department (JAKOA) Director, Senator Isa Ab Hamid today sworn in as a senator for the first term for 2016 to 2019.

The oath-taking ceremony was held before the President of the Senate, Senator Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang.
The President of the Senate in his welcoming speech, hoped the new Senator will continue to gain knowledge and skills to represent the voice of the Orang Asli.
Earlier, Senator Isa had served as a teacher and held the position as the Deputy Director of Social Studies at Johor Education Department.

He told the media that he will continue to fight for the Orang Asli community and will bring forward the problems they are facing.
“I will assist the Government to develop the Orang Asli’s land to increase their income and will assist in their education sector and their socio-economic,” he said.
He also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak for appointing him to represent the Orang Asli in the Senate.
