Friday, 25 April 2014 – The President of PUSPANITA, Puan Sri Dato’ Rohani Abdullah has officiated Parliament of Malaysia PUSPANITA Cafe at Level 17 on 24 April 2014. Also present were Dato’ Lamien Sawiyo, Chief Administrator Parliament of Malaysia, Puan Sri Asmahan Ismail, Chairperson of the Public Service Department (JPA) PUSPANITA, Datin Normah Ibrahim, Chairperson of the Parliament of Malaysia PUSPANITA, Datin Wan Azizon Ahmad, Chairperson of the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) PUSPANITA, Datuk Roosme Hamzah, Secretary of the House of Representatives and PUSPANITA Chairpersons for Agencies, Departments and Ministries.

The launching of Parliament of Malaysia PUSPANITA Cafe was in conjunction with the visit to Parliament of Malaysia organized by PUSPANITA with support by the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM). 135 Chairpersons and members of PUSPANITA from different agencies, departments and ministries joined the visit. The participants were brought to witness the ongoing House of Senate proceeding. This gave them the experience to watch the proceeding live.

Other than that, the participants were also given a briefing regarding Parliament of Malaysia at The Senate. The briefing was delivered by YM Tengku Nasaruddin Tengku Mohamed, Secretary of Corporate Communication Division (SUB PR). Through this briefing, the participants were able to improve their understanding regarding Parliament of Malaysia and the proceeding of The Senate. Question and answer session was held at the end of the briefing session. The participants were also brought to visit Parliament Gallery.

On the other hand, a collaboration between PUSPANITA, Welfare Bureau and Ministry of Agriculture contributed to selected single mothers in the form of cash and microwave to assist them in their daily income. Two Parliament staff also received the aid. This visit was to strengthen the relationship between the members of PUSPANITA from various Agencies, Departments and Ministries. The event ended at around 1pm.
