Thursday, 18 December 2014 – The National Transformation Programme Briefing and Ceremony for Senators were held on 17 December 2014 at the Banquet Hall, Parliament of Malaysia at 8pm.
Present in the ceremony were H.E Senator Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang, The President of The Senate, Hon. Senator Datuk Doris Sophia Brodi, Deputy President of The Senate, Hon. Dato' Seri Dr. Shahidan Kassim, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Senators, Datuk Lamien Sawiyo, Chief Administrator of the Malaysian Parliament, En. Awang Alik Jeman, Deputy Chief Administrator of the Malaysian Parliament and En. Riduan Rahmat, Secretary of The Senate. The ceremony was also attended by officials of the Malaysian Parliament and the media.
Hon. Senator Dato' Seri Idris Jala was presenting the National Transformation Programme Briefing
Briefing on the National Transformation Programme was presented by Hon. Senator Dato' Seri Idris Jala, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department who was also the Chief Executive Officer, Performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) at 8.30pm. A detailed and comprehensive elucidation of the National Transformation Programme was presented to the Senators. Some Senators also participated in the question and answer session, which was held at the end of the briefing.

Four Senators who had completed their terms were honoured in the ceremony. They were:

Tuan Baharudin Abu Bakar (6 September 2011 - 5 September 2014)
Datuk Haji Saat Haji Abu (15 November 2011 - 14 November 2014)

Hon. Senator Dato' Dr.Firdaus Haji Abdullah and Tuan Baharudin Abu Bakar also have the opportunity to deliver a short speech during the ceremony. Souvenir presentation by H.E. Senator Tan Sri Abu Zahar, the President of The Senate marked the end of the ceremony, which was ended at about 10.00 pm.
