Tuesday, 22 September 2015 – The Sitting of Malaysian Youth Parliament, Session III, 2015 -2016 was successfully conducted on 21 September and will resume today, 22 September 2015 in the august House, Parliament of Malaysia. The sitting which began at 10.00 am was presided by Hon. Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and assisted by Hon. Dato' Shamsul Anuar Haji Nasarah, Member of Parliament for Lenggong. While, Datuk Roosme Hamzah, Secretary of the House of Representatives acted as the Secretary of the Session III Sitting.

125 Members of the Youth Parliament of Malaysia has attended the sitting and also the pre-sitting session which was held from 19 to 20 September 2015 at the International Youth Centre (IYC), Cheras. The pre-sitting had provided venue for the members to discuss, refine and make thorough preparation to debate on the motions in the Session III Sitting of the Youth Parliament of Malaysia.

4 motions have been moved for debate, namely:

1. Education and Career Committee:
The proposal to create a programme "English in Rural Areas".

2. Socioeconomic Committee:
The proposal to implement single stream schooling to unite the community.

3. Security, Law and Integrity Committee:
The proposal to improve the financial management system and the political funds.

4. Spiritual and Religious Committee:
The proposal to regulate the distribution, sale and production of electronic cigarette (vape) in Malaysia.

All motions that have been debated and passed during the 2015/2016 Youth Parliament Sitting will be forwarded to the Cabinet. The Ministry of Youth and Sports is confident that the motions moved and debated by the member of Youth Parliament could highlight their potential as future leaders of the country and have a positive impact on the development of national youth as a whole.
