Monday, 26 October 2015 - The Honourable Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia has tabled Budget 2016 on 23 October 2015 in the House of Representatives, Parliament of Malaysia at 4pm.
Prime Minister of Malaysia together with Deputy Prime Minister, holds the Report of the Tabling of Budget 2016, accompanied by Finance Minister II and Deputy Finance Minister.
The tabling of the budget which carried the theme "Prospering The Rakyat”, has outlined five main pillars, namely strengthening economic resilience, increasing productivity, innovation and green technology, empowering human capital, advancing Bumiputera agenda, and easing the cost of living of the people.
The agenda presented in the tabling was deemed to be the best as it concerns on the low-income group thus demonstrating the Government's determination in listening to the grievances and complaints of the people. The 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) was also continued to ease the burden of the less fortunate individuals.
Various other benefits have also been presented in Budget 2016. This is the first budget under the 11th Malaysia Plan and it is significant as a benchmark for the direction of the nation in the future.
