Monday, 8 September 2014 – Parliament’s series of meeting were held at The Legend Resort, Cherating, Kuantan from 3-5 September 2014. Chief Administrator of Parliament, Datuk Lamien Sawiyo, chaired various meetings - Management, Training Committee, Governance Committee and the workshops for Parliament’s Strategic Plan Review and Annual Work Target (SKT). Also present were Datuk Zamani Sulaiman, Secretary of the Senate and senior officers of Parliament.

Meeting of the Joint Departmental Council (MBJ) was held on 3 September 2014 commencing at 2.30 pm.The meeting was chaired by Datuk Zamani Sulaiman, Secretary of the Senate. Also present were a representative from Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (CUEPACS), Encik Mohd Razali Singah, Deputy Secretary of Finance II,  the management of Parliament and the staff’s representatives. Various motions and arising matters affecting the welfare of the workers were discussed. MBJ is the right channel for the employees to voice their suggestions or problems they encountered.

Management meeting, Training Committee Meeting, Governance Committee Meeting and the workshops for Parliament’s Strategic Plan Review and Annual Work Target (SKT) took place on 4 September 2014. These meetings were important to look into new ideas to improve efforts of restructuring and strengthening the administration of Parliament.

A trip to Kuantan Municipal Council (MPK) was conducted on the last day, at 9.30 am. The visit was led by Datuk Zamani Sulaiman, Secretary of the Senate. The programme started with a welcoming address by Dato’ Haji Zulkifli Haji Yaacob, President of Kuantan Municipal Council. MPK is an organization that is synonymous with success at national and state level and has received numerous awards including awards for quality, administrative, municipal, development, landscape and KIK competition and innovation. A brief description about Kuantan Municipal Council and the implementation of the Creative and Innovative Group (KIK) was presented by En. Suris Mihat, Director of Corporate and Quality Management Department. One of the KIK group of Kuantan Municipal Council, UKS Global, also made a presentation of their KIK project called "Transit Rat Killer".

 
The visit ended at about 12.00 noon.
