Wednesday, 24 June 2015 - In conjunction with the holy month, a breaking of fast ceremony organized by H.E Senator Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang, President of the Senate was held at the Cafe, Temporary Block, Parliament of Malaysia.
 

Speaker of the House of Representatives and Minister in the Prime  Minister’s Department (JPM) were also present during the ceremony

Also present were H.E Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Pandikar Amin Haji Mulia, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dato' Seri Dr. Shahidan Kassim, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM), Hon. Senator Datuk Doris S. Brodi, Deputy President of the Senate, Hon. Senator Tan Sri Dato' Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman, Chairman of The Malaysian Senators' Council (MSM), Members of the Senate, Chief Administrator of Parliament of Malaysia, Secretary of the House of Representatives and the Senate and also Parliament staff.

 

Parliament Staff were also present during the Breaking of Fast Ceremony hosted by the President of the Senate
 

Guests were treated to a variety of tasty dishes after completing maghrib prayer in congregation. In addition, a donation to The Mosque of Seville, Spain was held and donations were handed over to representatives of the Seville Islamic Foundation who attended the ceremony.

Guests were then performed the Ishak and Tarawih prayers together after enjoying breaking of fast meal.  The iftar concluded with a light supper (moreh) at approximately 10.00 pm. This ceremony will further strengthen the relationship between the President of the Senate, Members of the Senate and Parliament Staff.
