Friday, 29 August 2014 – A delegation of 27 officers from the office of Kedah State Legislative Assembly led by Tuan Hj. Syed Isa bin Syed Ibrahim, Secretary of Kedah State Legislative Assembly visited Parliament at 9 am. Datuk Lamien Sawiyo, Chief Administrator of Parliament, Datuk Roosme Hamzah, Secretary of the House of Representatives, Datuk Zamani Sulaiman, Secretary of the Senate and senior officers of Parliament were also present to welcome the delegation.

The delegation was received and directly escorted into the House of Representatives. The delegation also visited the Audio Visual Room of the Hansard Section where they were briefed about the Multimedia Indexing Minute (MIM) system used to produce Hansard. Briefing was also given by an officer from the IT Division.
 
The delegation also visited the Library and Gallery. The visit to the Gallery allows the visitors to look at old photos of Parliament Building and other items used during Parliamentary sitting.

A short briefing about Parliament was given by Datuk Zamani Sulaiman, Secretary of the Senate in the Senate. The briefing was to disseminate information about the administration of Parliament and also on the House management. A short Q&A session took place at the end of the briefing to allow the exchanges of ideas between the delegations and Parliament officers.

The visit came to an end with a simple exchange of gift ceremony by H.E Senator Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang, the President of the Senate and Tuan Hj. Syed Isa bin Syed Ibrahim, Secretary of Kedah State Legislative Assembly, followed by light refreshments at the Senate lounge. The visit ended at about 11.30 am.
