Monday, April 21st 2014 – Office Security Management Course organized by the Human Resource Management and Innovation Section, Management Division, was held on 15 to 17 April 2014 at the Briefing Room, Parliament of Malaysia. The course was attended by 55 officers and staff of Parliament of Malaysia

The objective of this course was to give exposure to the Parliament’s staff on office security management that covers physical, document, ICT and personal security. On the first day of the course, Mr. Mohd Redzuan Haji Ruzali, Senior Assistant Security Officer, Parliament of Malaysia delivered a talk on Office Security Management from the perspective of security threats in government offices. In addition, he also talked about office security from the perspective of physical security.

On the second day, Mr. Mohamad Foudzli Abdullah, Secretary of Security Division, Parliament of Malaysia delivered a talk on document security. Through this lecture, participants were exposed to document management from the aspect of receiving, processing, storing, transmitting, evaluating and disposing of document. Reclassification and handling of the Register of Official Secret Documents was also taught to the participants.

On the last day of the course, participants were exposed to Security Management Office from the perspective of ICT security and personal security. This has helped participants to better understand on how to improve the quality of personal security in accordance with the law, circular and government order. At the end of the course, participants were given a case study to better enhance their understanding. The course ended at about 4.30 pm.
