Friday, 12 September 2014 – A courtesy call by the Honourable Bronwyn Bishop, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Australian Parliament to His Excellency Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Pandikar Amin Haji Mulia, Speaker of the House of Representatives was held at 9.30 am at the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Also present were several Members of Parliament, Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed (Pulai MP), Dato’ Ahmad Fauzi Zahari (Setiawangsa MP), Dato’ Haji Irmohizam Ibrahim (Kuala Selangor MP), Haji Mohd Fasiah Mohd Fakeh (Sabak Bernam MP), Alice Lau Kiong Yieng (Lanang MP), William Leong Jee Keen (Selayang MP) and Datuk Roosme Hamzah, Secretary of the House of Representatives.

Next, the delegation visited His Excellency Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang, President of the Senate at the Office of the President of the Senate at 10.30 am.

Datuk Doris Sophia, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Datuk Seri Nallakaruppan, Senator Dato’ Dr. Firdaus Haji Abdullah, Senator Dato’ Jaspal Singh, Senator Bathmavathi Krishnan and Senator Hajah Khairiah Mohamed also present during the courtesy call.

The courtesy call is important to further enhance the relationship between Malaysia and Australia. Other than that, it is also important in order to create better economy opportunity between both countries. The Honourable Bronwyn Bishop too expressed her sympathy for the loss of MH370 aircraft and Australia will continue to be committed to help find the aircraft.

Lastly, Honourable Bronwyn Bishop and her delegation were brought to Carsosa Seri Negara for a welcoming reception.
