Parliament Malaysia, 25 September 2014 (Thursday) – To encourage Parliament staff especially those who are less active in physical activities to be more active, Parliament of Malaysia has launched FIT PARLIAMENT Campaign: Walk 10,000 Steps for a Healthy Lifestyle that was launched by Datuk Lamien Sawiyo, Chief Administrator of Parliament of Malaysia. Also present were En. Awang Alik Jeman, Deputy Chief Administrator, Secretary of the Senate, Chairperson of Puspanita Parliament and senior officers.

In addition, Pn. Salmah Aziz, Director, Sports Division of Putrajaya National Youth and Sports Department and En. Hafdzam Osman, Deputy Director and a few officers from Kuala Lumpur Youth and Sport Department were also present as a sign of support for the campaign.

As we all know, the Ministry of Health has launched the Walk 10,000 Steps Campaign in 2009. Now, the campaign is extended to everyone in order to make the healthy lifestyle as a routine. Indirectly, the FIT PARLIAMENT Campaign: Walk 10,000 Steps for a Healthy Lifestyle will deliver significant benefits to the health of the staff.

The event, that was attended by more than 200 Parliament staff at the canteen forecourt, ended at about 5.30 p.m.
