AIPA`S SUBSTATIVE COMMITTEE WORKSHOP

As the 36th AIPA Conference which is expected to be held in Kuala Lumpur on 6 to 12 September 2015, Substantive Committee led by Datuk Roosme Hamzah, the Secretary of the House of Representatives, started its work by holding a Workshop for Preparatory Works of the 36th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary (AIPA) at Ancasa Residences, Port Dickson on 20 to 22 March 2015.

The purpose of the workshop is to discuss on:
(a) The theme for the 36th AIPA Conference
(b) The selection of issues for the preparation of resolution drafts for AIPA committees
(c) Preparation of Gantt Chart

Also participating in the workshop were En. Asri Adnan (Head of Research and Library Division), Pn. Lavinia Vyveganathan (Head of International Relations and Protocol), research officers and officers from the Hansard Section.

Other than that, the workshop also were attended by 5 academicians from The Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), UKM, led by Prof. Dr. Rashila Ramli who helped the Substantive Committee and En. Idham Zuhri from ASEAN-Malaysia National Secretariat, Ministry of Foreign Affairs who explained on current issues of ASEAN. The Substantive Committee too has planned meeting schedules in preparation for the 36th AIPA Conference. A total of 6 meetings are expected to be held before the Conference.
