Monday, 12 October 2015 – Ceria Senamrobik Programme @ National Sports Day held for the first time has gathered more than 2000 civil servants from various departments and agencies. The programme was held on 10 October 2015 at Complex C, Putrajaya. Parliament staff also participated in the programme and was led by Datuk Awang Alik Jerman, Chief Administrator of Malaysian Parliament.
Also present were the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Dr. Ali Hamsa, Director General of Public Service, Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal, Director General of Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning (MAMPU), Datuk Zainal Rahim Seman and Secretary General of Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Seri Noorul Ainur Mohd Nur.
The programme started at 9 am with senam seni activity and demonstrations of karate followed by aerobics and silat, zumba and rope jumping. The opening ceremony was held at 10 am with an opening gimmick by Tan Sri Dr. Ali Hamsa and Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal demonstrating acts of Muay Thai.
The Senamrobik Ceria programme is to inculcate the spirit of unity, encourages the nation’s economy through the sports’ industry and improve the sporting knowledge of civil servants.
