Monday, 13 October 2014 – A lot of good news for Malaysians has been announced by the Prime Minister during the tabling of Budget 2015 which was held on 10 October 2014 at the House of Representatives, Parliament of Malaysia. In accordance with the theme of 2015 Budget: The People’s Economy, the tabling is based on seven main strategies:
1. Strengthening Economic Growth
2. Enhancing Fiscal Governance
3. Developing Human Capital and Entrepreneurship
4. Advancing Bumiputera Agenda
5. Upholding Role of Women
6. Developing National Youth Transformation Programme
7. Prioritising Well-Being of the Rakyat
In addition, the budget tabled was more comprehensive because it focused on low and moderate income earners and the middle class. This can be seen through the improvement of 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) and good and service tax exemption on essential goods such as food, medicines and fuel.
Besides, attention was also given to the youth through the National Youth Transformation Plan and also housing assistance for youth. Financial assistance for poor families and the increase in persons with disabilities’ allowance were also included in the tabling of 2015 budget. At the same time, various other initiatives were also given the same attention like infrastructure projects, assistance to Bumiputera entrepreneurs, health services, education as well as rural development.
The budget is expected to be the best step taken by the Government to ensure economic growth and prosperity of the people.
