Friday, 6 November 2015 - Terengganu Wanita UMNO Information deputy chairman, Hon. Senator Engku Naimah Taib has sworn in as Senator before the President of the Senate, H.E. Senator Tan Sri Abu Zahar at 10am.

She was proposed to be a Senator by the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly and will serve her first term as Senator and holds the three years of office beginning today.
Y.M. Engku Naimah Engku Taib, 57, holds a degree in Bachelor of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) from Universiti Putra Malaysia and Teacher’s Diploma from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris. She once served in the public sector as Headmaster at four different schools from 1997 to 2013 before actively involved in politics.
The President of the Senate in his short speech reminded the Senators to obey and respect all provisions stated in the Standing Orders and the Federal Constitution. He also stressed that "Justice must not only said to be done, but it must be seen to be done" in line with the principles and process of legislative justice.
The Swearing-in ceremony was also attended by nine Senators and senior Parliament officials. The ceremony ended at about 10.30 am.
