SEPANG, 6 September 2015 (Parliament of Malaysia) - The delegation from Brunei Darussalam arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) this morning to attend the 36th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) which starts tomorrow.
Hon. Datuk Haji Ismail bin Mohamed Said accompanying H.E. Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Dato Setia Haji Mohd Taib, the Speaker of the Legislative Council of Brunei Darussalam upon arrival at the KLIA this morning.
Brunei was led by H.E. Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Dato Setia Haji Mohd Taib, the Speaker of the Legislative Council of Brunei Darussalam.
Hon. Datuk Haji Ismail bin Mohamed Said, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and his wife, Datin Norazimah Abd. Mubin, and Member of Parliament for Kangar and Limbang were also present to welcome the arrival of the first delegation.
The Speaker of Parliaments of ASEAN countries and about 300 delegates will gather at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur to discuss the regional and international issues concerning ASEAN community.
The AIPA meeting, which lasted for six days until 12 September 2015, is one of the platforms to finalise the official establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community by the end of this year.
