Kuala Lumpur, 12 December -  H.E. Dato’ Mohamad Ariff bin Md Yusof, the Speaker of the House of Representatives attended the first series of  the Speaker’s Lecture Series titled Parliament and Civil Society : The Voice of The Rakyat? which was held at the Conference Hall of the Parliament of Malaysia.

The sharing session of this Speaker's Lecture Series was conducted by YAM Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin Ibni Tuanku Muhriz and moderated by Hon. Wong Chen, the Member of Parliament for Subang.

This lecture series was held in line with the Parliament of Malaysia’s commitment to start the initiative of strengthening and modernizing the Parliament as well as to inculcate the culture of parliamentary democracy among Malaysians. Through this programme, participants of different backgrounds were given the info about the functions and roles of the Parliament of Malaysia.
