KUALA LUMPUR, Kha. - Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) berhadapan dengan masalah kerugian berikutan aliran 
tunainya yang dikatakan semakin hari semakin `susut' hingga menjejaskan prestasi kewangan syarikat gergasi 
tersebut. Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kira-Kira Negara (PAC), Datuk Shahrir Samad berkata, berikutan masalah 
berkenaan, syarikat itu tidak mempunyai pilihan melainkan terpaksa memohon kepada kerajaan untuk menaikkan

RM32m  grants given out wrongly

to train drivers of heavy vehicleswith RM32 million from  grants that should 
have gone to welfare and promotion of sports, says the  Public Accounts
Committee. The money came from grants from the Malaysian Totalisator Board,  
which is under the PAC’s scrutiny.

kewajaran Lembaga Totalisator Malaysia (LTM) mengagihkan geran kepada beberapa organisasi,
termasuk pemberian  RM47 juta kepada National Academy of Motorsports yang digunakan bagi

KUALA  LUMPUR, Wed. - The National Academy of Motorsports should refund the  RM47mil
disbursed by the Malaysia Totalisator Board as the sum  was not used for welfare purposes,
said the Public Accounts Committee.This was the finding of the PAC which looked into the 
board’s financial  transaction as disclosed in the Auditor-General’s 2004 annual report.

KUALA LUMPUR, Wed. - The Attorney-General (A-G) should have  ministerial rank so
that he is answerable to the public and Parliament and be  more responsive to 
issues of public interest. This was suggested by Public  Accounts Committee (PAC)
chairman Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad who said it was  perhaps time to consider making 
the A-G a political appointee.

dinaik taraf sebagai menteri, manakala penyandangnya  dipilih daripada kalangan ahli

is expected to  discuss concerns that the TotalisatorBoard of Malaysia 
may have disbursed its  annual grants to “undeserving” recipients.  
Ipoh Barat MP M. Kulasegaran  said he would raise the issue, citing 
the 2004 annual report, which revealed  that one major recipient was 
the National Academy of Motorsports.

This warning comes from the British-based Halcrow Group Limited which was engaged to do a study after cracks appeared on the stretch between Kepong Indah and the Damansara-Puchong Highway last year.
